Field Surveying Equipment

Topographic Field Surveying

Lead Surveyor | UBC CIVL 235

Conducted intensive field data collection using Leica Total Stations and GNSS.

Project Overview

Intensive two-week field surveying camp focused on high-precision spatial measurements and topographic mapping on the UBC campus.

My Responsibilities

  • Operated industry-standard Leica Total Stations, automatic levels, and precise GNSS receivers.
  • Executed complex control traverses and differential leveling under tight time constraints.
  • Calculated error closures, horizontal coordinates, and produced detailed technical field reports.

Laneway Home Architectural Design

Laneway Home Project

Project Engineer | Team 7

Developed a comprehensive design and construction proposal for a residential laneway home.

Project Overview

A full-cycle infrastructure project targeting urban densification in Vancouver through the design of a sustainable laneway home.

My Responsibilities

  • Co-authored the comprehensive Final Proposal, integrating structural, zoning, and sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborated within a multidisciplinary team to balance architectural constraints with engineering feasibility.
  • Delivered the final pitch presentation to academic stakeholders to defend the project's viability.

Masterfonction Multitool

Masterfonction Multitool

Co-founder & Treasurer | Regional 3rd Place

Co-founded a mini-business designing a fully customizable electronic multitool.

Project Overview

An entrepreneurial engineering initiative that won 3rd place in a regional mini-business college competition in France. The product was a hand-made, 3D-printed customizable tool integrating a laser, light, and fan.

My Responsibilities

  • Managed the team's finances, budgeting, and resource allocation as Treasurer.
  • Led the mechanical design and CAD modeling of the protective 3D-printed outer shell.
  • Oversaw product assembly and coordinated cross-functional team efforts.

Sweeping Claw CAD Isometric View

Sweeping Claw Mechanism

Design Engineer | UBC Year 1

Designed and prototyped a sweeping claw mechanism, delivering full CAD modeling and EOI.

Project Overview

An academic design challenge requiring the end-to-end development of a mechanical sweeping claw, from initial concept to physical prototyping and technical defense.

My Responsibilities

  • Drafted precise engineering drawings and isometric CAD models for manufacturing.
  • Formulated a formal Expression of Interest (EOI) to justify the design choices.
  • Created the technical E-Poster and co-led the oral presentation in front of the engineering faculty.

Cardboard Chair Design

Structural Cardboard Chair

Structural Designer | Team N2 (APSC 100)

Engineered a weight-bearing cardboard chair optimizing load distribution and material resistance.

Project Overview

A rigorous structural engineering challenge (APSC 100 Studio) requiring the construction of a functional, load-bearing chair using only standard cardboard, focusing on sustainability and structural integrity.

My Responsibilities

  • Applied load distribution principles to maximize the strength-to-weight ratio of the cardboard structure.
  • Authored the formal Technical Memo documenting our testing methodology and structural analysis.
  • Designed the promotional sheet (Promo Sheet) to communicate the sustainable value proposition to a non-technical audience.
